The Canadian Autumn
Here's another water reflection photo - this time showing parts of what I think is a retired mill in Perth, Ontario.

The Canadian Autumn
On the prairies most of the native trees turn yellow rather than red in the autumn. In Ontario the range of colours is greater has can be seen in this photo.

In this photo you can see the trees that were providing the wonderful relections in the photos posted over the last couple of days.

The Canadian Autumn
Over the next couple of days I will be posting a series of photos showing the autumn colours reflected in the water. Here's the first of these.

The Canadian Autumn
It may not render well at the small image size offered here, but this photo has sort or a mottled look to it as a result of being taken through a very old window pane that had a lot of iregularities to it.

The Canadian Autumn
Here's an extractive landscape showing just a touch of the autumn colours reflected in the water at MacKenzie King Estates.

The Canadian Autumn
Recently family circumstances had us travel to Ottawa and there was time to do a little shooting. This shot is dedicated to my new pal and fellow photogrpaher Ross Pryde (http://www.rosspryde.com/ who took me along to MacKenzie King Estates for a few hours one afternoon.

Lisbon and a Sign to head for home
Hmmm...this crisp maple leaf lying on the marble sidewalks of Lisbon made me a little home sick. Travel is great but so is going home. Wonder if there are any leaves left on the trees on the Canadian Prairie?

Lisbon From the Water
Flags are pretty great, and a great way to see Lisbon is aboard a tour boat which is where these flags flapped feverishly in the wind.

Lisbon leading lines
Creating a little foreground interest and designing the picture space so that the eye is led into the photograph are basic guidelines to good photography. The leading lines here are provided by the paving pattern in the plaza at Pracodo Comerco.

Lisbon Arriving by Train
This is Lisbon central train station; taken with the 15mm Fisheye which produced a rather nice effect I think.

Lisbon - Wedding Day in Belem
Not much to say about this photo except that I felt sorry for those guys in wool suites...30 degress plus and I was expiring in my shorts and tee shirt.

Lisbon
Truth is I don't remember where exactly I took this; we were just out for a walk and when I looked up this is what I saw and I liked it.

Lisbon Elevador de Santa Justa
Rising 45 metres, the Elevador de Santa Justa was designed by Raul Mesnier du Ponsard, who was an apprentice to Gustav Eiffel, who of course designed that little tower in Paris.

Lisbon's Fountains
Aren't fountains great? Something about the water splashing about that is most compelling, particularly on a hot day.

Lisbon's Colours
This scarf hung outside the doors to a little boutique that specialized in all things Portuguese...or at least the stuff they'd like the tourists to take home.

Art in the strangest places...
Well not that strange I guess. This fellow, who had a more than slight homeless look about him, had opted for a very public setting in central Lisbon to show off his drawing skills.

Everybody Has Something to Say
This chap had plenty on his mind but no audience. From the look on his face I think his wee dog has heard enough too.
